Editorial weddings

Editorial weddings by manfler, the family wedding florist in Crete since 1978: seven weddings in Crete and Santorini, newest first, each with its venue, planner and photographer.

A woman in a heavily beaded, sheer-sleeved gown and a jewelled tiara leans over a green velvet chair at a long wedding table at iIslet in Santorini, Greece. Low tables of mixed flowers in plum, coral and blush, including allium, dahlias and gladioli, fill the foreground, while tall floral installations and crystal chandeliers glow above the room. Pillar candles and frosted glass globes add warm light to the soft, neutral setting.

Designed to Be Seen

Islet Santorini

A bride in a long white satin gown with sculpted sleeves and an open back stands beside a long table in a converted industrial hall, her hair in a low bun and her hand resting on a bentwood chair. The table is dressed in white linens and set with clusters of white roses, hydrangeas, calla lilies and fern, with rows of candles glowing in glass holders. This is a wedding table in Rethimno, Crete, Greece, lit by tube lights overhead and a soft blue wash on the tall metal tanks behind her.

A bride with a short dark bob, seen from behind in an off-shoulder ivory gown with a long flowing train, gazes toward a rugged concrete hall lit by warm spotlights. On the left, a long table laid for a wedding dinner runs beneath a large glowing peach-coloured flower-shaped lantern, with clusters of white blooms and tall candles in glass vases and clear chairs. This wedding table setting is in Rethimno, Crete, Greece.

A bride in a flowing white gown laughs as a dark-suited groom lifts her slightly, both holding a bouquet of deep red roses, inside a tall triangular mirrored arch on a red carpet. Around them are red gerbera daisies, dark burgundy hydrangeas, red roses and red-leaved shrubs, with orchard trees reflected in the mirrors. This wedding flower design is for a wedding at Rethimno in Greece.

The arch is lush with deep burgundy hydrangeas, white phalaenopsis orchids, pale plumes and dark eucalyptus, framed by clusters of green hydrangea, with the soft blue of the Aegean sea and sky behind them.

A bride in a pale, lace-embroidered gown and a groom in a black tuxedo with bow tie stand smiling at each other in front of a whitewashed wall, beside a dramatic floral installation of pink and magenta blooms fading to orange and deep red. The bride carries a bouquet of cream roses, pink ranunculus and blue hydrangea, and the scene is wedding flowers at Markakis Estate in Greece.

A man in a crimson satin coat with white lace cuffs reaches up to adjust a sprig of branches in a styled wedding table setting at a workshop in Russia. Around him, tall gold frames hold cascades of garden roses in red, peach and apricot, mauve hydrangea, dark grapes, and yellow forsythia and mimosa, with bright tulips and daffodils on the right. A melon, green grapes, a glass decanter and candles sit on the table below in warm, golden-toned light.
