Wedding flowers, Santorini.

A Santorini wedding is about the view: white terraces over the caldera, the sea on every side and a sunset everyone stops for. The flowers should frame it, not compete with it.

We have made the wedding flowers for couples at Cavo Ventus, Islet Santorini, Aenaon Villas and Eros Santorini: bridal bouquets, ceremony arches that seem to hang over the sea, aisles of white petals and long dinner tables laid for the last of the light.

Our workshop is in Crete, a couple of hours across the sea, and we have been making wedding flowers since 1978. For every Santorini wedding we plan the design and the logistics together with your planner and the venue.

Designing for the caldera

Wind
The caldera is breezy, and in July and August the meltemi blows. Arches and aisle pieces have to be weighted and anchored, and anything light and loose needs a plan for a gusty evening.
Sun & heat
Ceremonies are usually timed for sunset after a hot day, so flowers are chosen for how well they hold up in the heat as much as for how they look.
Space
Terraces are narrow and stepped. The design has to fit the space and leave the view open from every seat.
Palette
Whites and soft blush sit beautifully against whitewashed walls; deeper colour stands out boldly against the blue.

What we make

Bridal bouquets & buttonholes
A bouquet designed around the dress, the season and the colours of the day, with buttonholes, corsages and flowers for the bridal party to match.
Ceremony arches & aisles
Arches, altars and aisle flowers for a chapel, a beach, a vineyard or a villa terrace, built to stand up to the island wind and sun.
Reception tables
Centrepieces, garlands and candlelit tablescapes for long tables and round ones, from an intimate dinner to a full wedding party.
Floral installations
Hanging installations, clouds of hydrangea and sculptural statement pieces that give a venue scenery of its own.
Venue styling
Flowers for the welcome, the bar, the cake and the dance floor, so the whole venue reads as one design.

Questions

Do you make wedding flowers in Santorini?

Yes. We have made the flowers for weddings across Santorini, from Cavo Ventus on the caldera near Akrotiri to Islet Santorini and Aenaon Villas, and we plan every Santorini wedding with your planner and the venue.

How much do wedding flowers cost in Santorini?

We design each wedding for its own place and its own people, so we do not work from packages. As a gentle guide, couples marrying in Crete usually set aside €1,500 or more for their flowers, depending on what their design asks for. In Santorini, where our team and the flowers travel with us, it usually begins at two to three times that. Tell us your date, your venue and your guests, and we will propose what we feel would be most beautiful for you.

When is the best time of year for a Santorini wedding?

May, June, September and October are the most popular months: warm days, softer winds than high summer and gentler light for photographs. July and August are the hottest and windiest, which the flowers have to be designed for.

How far ahead should we book our wedding florist?

As early as you can. The wedding season in Greece runs from about May to October, and Saturdays in June and September tend to go first, so booking a year ahead is common. It is always worth asking about a closer date, though.

Can you work with our wedding planner?

Yes. Most of the weddings we make flowers for are organised by a planner, and in Santorini we have worked alongside Julia & Evita, Tie the Knot Santorini and Lifetime Affair Santorini. We are just as happy to plan the flowers directly with you.

Do you speak English?

Yes. We work in English and Greek, from the first email to the wedding day.
