Modern weddings

Modern weddings by manfler, the family wedding florist in Crete since 1978: five weddings in Crete and Athens, newest first, each with its venue, planner and photographer.

A wedding table setting in a lush garden in Greece, with a green and white patterned cloth, pink plates and lilac candles in glass hurricanes. Behind it, tall floral arrangements of pink roses, peonies and dahlias on wooden stands rise among leafy green plants and sunflowers, with rows of cross-back chairs stretching into the greenery.

Where Celebration Meets Nature

2026
A bride in a long white satin gown with sculpted sleeves and an open back stands beside a long table in a converted industrial hall, her hair in a low bun and her hand resting on a bentwood chair. The table is dressed in white linens and set with clusters of white roses, hydrangeas, calla lilies and fern, with rows of candles glowing in glass holders. This is a wedding table in Rethimno, Crete, Greece, lit by tube lights overhead and a soft blue wash on the tall metal tanks behind her.

In the Glow

Rethymno, Crete
2026
A bride in a strapless white satin gown with a full skirt walks away from the camera, past a long outdoor wedding table set beneath three crystal chandeliers. Along its edge, tall purple delphinium spires rise above drifts of pink garden roses, and clusters of deep red bougainvillea and tall grasses frame her path on the green lawn. This is a wedding table at Island Athens Riviera in Greece, with glassware and candles glowing in the dusk.

A bride in a flowing white gown laughs as a dark-suited groom lifts her slightly, both holding a bouquet of deep red roses, inside a tall triangular mirrored arch on a red carpet. Around them are red gerbera daisies, dark burgundy hydrangeas, red roses and red-leaved shrubs, with orchard trees reflected in the mirrors. This wedding flower design is for a wedding at Rethimno in Greece.

Two tall, cascading mounds of pink hydrangeas and deep rose-red blooms flank a small gold-legged table holding a cross, candles and a glass carafe, all set on a tiered orange stage on a green lawn at Crete Golf Club in Crete, Greece. Smaller low clusters of hot pink roses and pale pink hydrangeas sit at the stage's front corners, and in the warm late-afternoon light, the whole wedding ceremony setup glows against the dry brown hills behind.
