Weddings with orchids

Weddings with orchids by manfler, the family wedding florist in Crete since 1978: ten weddings in Santorini and Crete, newest first, each with its venue, planner and photographer.

A woman in a heavily beaded, sheer-sleeved gown and a jewelled tiara leans over a green velvet chair at a long wedding table at iIslet in Santorini, Greece. Low tables of mixed flowers in plum, coral and blush, including allium, dahlias and gladioli, fill the foreground, while tall floral installations and crystal chandeliers glow above the room. Pillar candles and frosted glass globes add warm light to the soft, neutral setting.

A bride in a strapless white satin gown with covered buttons down her back walks across a sweep of green lawn toward a round dark-green platform. On it stand tall sculptural arrangements of white draped fabric and clusters of green-and-burgundy hydrangeas, with a spiky green foliage piece and two young trees beside them. This wedding flower installation at Roxani Estate in Greece has a calm, garden-like mood, shot from above.

A bride with dark hair in a loose side braid and a lace-bodice gown with thin straps stands with her eyes closed while a bearded groom in a light linen suit leans in and rests his forehead against hers. She holds a bright bouquet of orange roses, pink carnations, magenta bougainvillea and deep burgundy dahlias with green foliage. Behind them, white arched bell towers glow in soft sunlight over a pale sea, marking this wedding portrait at Cavo Ventus in Greece.

A bride in a lace gown with a long train laughs brightly as she holds up her skirt, walking beside a groom in a black tuxedo and bow tie along an aisle lined with white and blush roses and fern. Petals drift through the air beneath a draped cream fabric canopy, with the Aegean Sea glittering behind them at Cavo Ventus, a wedding venue in Greece, where these are wedding flowers for an outdoor ceremony.

A bride and groom stand side by side under an arch of pale blue, feathery foliage dotted with white roses, with a heap of white roses spilling across the floor at each side, at a wedding at Aenaon Villas in Greece. He wears a white dinner jacket with a black bow tie and dark sunglasses, and she wears a fitted, sparkling gown with a lace-edged veil that trails behind her, holding a white rose bouquet. Hazy sea and cliffs fill the background, giving the scene a soft, airy calm.
